Weather conditions: |
| According to survey data river ice at Tarko-Sale broke unusually early - 7 May (!), although later the cold, winter weather returned again. Judging by few snow patches remaining during the observation period (1-17 July), snow melted as usually, by mid-June. By early July all lakes were already free of ice, but water level remained high; emergence of the foliage in alder, birch and willow was noted. The spring was prolonged and cold, mass mosquito hatch took place on 16-17 July. The windy and rainy weather with air temperatures of 0 - +5^C prevailed in July. On 7-8 July 6-8 cm of snow fell and remained on the ground for 4 days.

Breeding conditions:

Out of 10 Arctic Fox dens only one had a litter, however, the pups were dead. Nesting predatory birds included Rough-legged Buzzard (one nest with chicks) which bread at a lower than usual density, and Arctic Skua; nomadic Arctic and Long-tailed Skuas were common. Some singles of Snowy Owls were seen. Among waders common breeders included Ringed Plover, Wood Sandpiper, Red-necked Phalarope, Temminck's Stint and Dunlin. Species that were absent from the area included European Pluvialis apricaria and Pacific P. fulva Golden-Plovers, Little Stint and Pintail Snipe Gallinago stenura. By mid-July only Wood Sandpiper and Temminck's Stint chicks were found, while other waders continued incubation.

Rodent dynamics:
|
| No Siberian Lemmings were trapped, other rodents' numbers were low: 4 Narrow-skulled Voles, 4 Bank Voles Clethrionomys glareolus and 1 Collared Lemming Dicrostonyx torquatus were caught (1.5 individuals per 100 trap-days).
